This is a group for non-fiction writers who want to share their work, receive feedback from one another, and get encouragement to publish. Writers working on essays, memoirs, researched articles/books, etc. are welcome. Meetings will held on Sundays in the early-evening, at 5: 30 p.m., at an Emeryville cafe. This is a group for anyone who wishes to complete a writing project--aspiring fiction and non-fiction writers and graduate students working on their thesis. We offer: 1) A daily place to gather and write with others, so that you can establish a routine away from the distractions of home. 2) Support to finish your project 3) Guidance about how you can publish your work, find an agent, etc. 4) Opportunities to brainstorm and exchange ideas with others (if desired)
I am an internationally published poet, author, publisher, writing coach and meditation teacher. For years I have taught writing workshops and classes throughout the Bay Area as well as volunteered at Spirit Rock Meditation Center teaching in the Family and Teen Program, and more recently have been teaching a class at Book Passage called "The Mindful Writer." This is a book club for history enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. We read and then discuss different books that are rooted in or inspired by history in all its shapes and colors.
